Shannon has just finished this beautiful silk painting of abstract flowers and what makes this piece even more special is that it is a gift for her nan who is also a very creative lady.

Shannon has left a large border so that we can frame it and she has allowed the same colours to bleed over to form the background – very clever.

Shannon opted for a gold gutta outline which you can see in this detail – gutta is a liquid, rubbery solution which is applied as an outline to which the applied colours will be confined to.

Absolutely gorgeous colours of the applied dyes

Just stunning Shannon! The final silk painting was cropped and stretched into a frame for Shannon’s grandmother. I hope your nan loves this artwork and you should be basking in glory right now Shannon for producing such a gorgeous first ever silk painting. Congratulations!
